Jerolin's Biography
Jerolin Alcantara Diaz is a current Digital Media B.A.S. student at Florida State College
in Jacksonville. She enjoys learning new things every day to gain experience and, in the
future, help more people in her own business. With two photographs and a pencil and
paper drawing piece, she had been nominated for the Florida State College at
Jacksonville (FSCJ) student annual show. One of her Photographs, "Christmas Never
End" has been chosen for a whole year to show in other school galleries in Florida. She
has been selected on the president's list for four consecutive years for being a student
with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Jerolin is bilingual. She can speak and write perfectly in
Spanish and can help to have another type of wider public to perform with and even
work with people from other countries. Jerolin knows how to create and develop web
design. She can take the most unique ideas and turn them into reality according to what
each person desires. She can also develop different graphic designs, such as logos,
brochures, presentations, and flyers. She can capture and edit photographs of the most
meaningful moments. Jerolin can also create and edit all kinds of videos and 3D
animations. Finally, Jerolin has additional skills such as multitasking, she knows how to
listen to people, she is observant, and she is a fast learner. Jerolin is very dedicated to
what she likes the most. She enjoys helping others and always treats people the way
she likes to be treated. For her, all people are equal, therefore she gives equal value to
everyone.

Artist Statement-The reason behind my Art
With my photographic art, I want to show that time is relevant. Because a season only lasts for a small period, that doesn't mean we should only celebrate it for that time. I can create photographs representing a time of year that isn't there, like, for example, Christmas all year instead of just December. With the help of different elements that can be easily found or created by hand that represent the time that I want to show, like "pinecones" that are representative of Christmas, my camera, and editing software like Adobe programs, I can create the perfect image that illustrates that time of the year but for the whole year. I have to be different so others can notice me. When people see my work, they will remember not only Christmas or Halloween as a "season" but that it would be something memorable to their lives that will always be remembered and never forgotten.
